The Holy Grail Debate
Question: What is YOUR perfect hunting rifle setup?
It seems like a few times a year over a few "sodas" we play the game and ask the question,
"If you could choose one hunting rifle to use exclusively for the rest of your life, what would it be?"
Sometimes it is a civil debate and sometimes it can get quite heated. So many factors change per person, per enviroment,
sentimental value, ammo availability, and straight up killing power of a cartridge. In BC I could have a chance at an Elk, Moose, Whitetail, Mulie, Black Bear, Coyote, Wolf, or Sasquatch all in a day, but don't move here you'd hate it. Swap that for someone who lives to chase long range deer in the coulees of Alberta and everything changes. Then there is our friend Anton who can't understand why we don't always choose SVT-40...
Sometimes the conversation will last a week because in the middle of the night a guy with a Remington Model Seven might have an epiphany and change his caliber of choice from .338 Fed to .280 Ackley but then he needs to change the gun/platform too!
So here on a snowy February Friday I want to ask you all,
What is THE gun?
You don't have to own it currently because what lunatic (other than your wife) would ask you to have only ONE gun?
Let it begin!
