all of our receivers have been anodized. We cerakote over top of the anodizing if we customize a set.

Which barrel did you install in that video?
A gun is like a parachute... when you need one you usually need it pretty bad...

It's a Faxon. Judging by the colour of the barrel extension it's not the match series. Judging by the length it's protruding from the 15" handguard I'm gonna go ahead and guess it's a Faxon Gunner 20".

BTW, CSC, great video. You made it look easy. I've heard different opinions on whether it's important to the check the headspace on an AR-15... I notice you didn't mention anything about checking headspace. I did on my AR-10 but is it absolutely necessary on the AR-15 platform?

There were concerns that the early runs of MDI receivers had poor anodizing, did you find a solution?

All of our receiver sets come as raw aluminum. We do the surface prep in house and get them anodized locally..

My first receiver set (very low serial number) was a complete disappointment to put it nicely.

I just received my second receiver set serial number 70# and will say that the finish is MUCH better than the early one I got. I'm not sure if they're doing something differently or if the annodizer is simply doing a better/more consistent job but I am a lot happier with the finish on the new one.

Just tested my SLR with an IBI barrel and Faxon bolt, extremely good accuracy and reliability. Easily under MOA at 100 yards. Had to enlarge safety hole in the trigger box and the hole for the gas tube in the upper receiver for anyone wondering. The only thing that can make my evening better is the UCP destroying the NDP!
