Why couldn't they just machine the damn trigger box safety hole the right size? Would be nice to have the anodizing still intact since it's super tough and prevents wear. Or if they could provide extra trigger boxes. That's my only complaint but it's a big one.

In almost every case the hole is the right size. The problem is that there are three components interacting, the safety, the trigger box and the receiver. In most cases they can be assembled without issue. Sometimes the tension of the set screw causes things to bind. Sometimes the safety is on the large side. We just find it easier to make the trigger box hole oversized.

My only problem with the one I put together was the upper gas tube hole was out of spec and had to be drilled to .180” for the gas tube to fit. Mac def was willing to do it and ship it back the same day but I just drilled it myself as I built it for a friend.

How did you open it up? Regular bit and drill press?

My set has the same issue.
    Whatever

#15 drill. In a drill press high rpm slow drilling.

Some vendors are having their receiver sets anodized, others cerakoted. These are anodized.
