The action is likely too short for the 6.5x54MS if you're gonna do a classic do a classic.

Dearly love my Steyr Mannlicher Classic.

    Mine is in .222.

    Full floating barrel.

    Intriguing spiral hammered barrel.

Single set trigger with final pull around 1#.

    Classic “butter knife” bolt handle

Put a Zeiss Conquest HD5 on it in Talley rings and bases.

It has real German walnut - not plywood.

It sure wasn’t anywhere near $3K

That's why we buy used. E.g. I got my BSA CF2 Stutzen for $600. Not a lot were made, but they show up once in while looking for a new home. Ellwood Epps had one this summer listed for $595.
Today could be the last day of the rest of your life.

X2. I have a .30-06Sprg I've been in love with since the day I bought it.

I agree, mine is a LH purchased in 30-06, bought for $1600 with full length wood and quick release "twist out" 30mm rings, spent another $450 to rechamber to 9.3x62

5 round rotarty drop mag with clear back to see how many rounds are in it to the list, love the slick and short bolt through with the rear bolt lugs.

I keep praying that one of these with a good bore in 6.5 x 54 M.S. will come my way.

“A gun is to shoot anyway, he thought, not to be preserved in a case, and this was a really good rifle, easy to shoot, easy to teach anyone to shoot with, and handy on the boat. He had always had more confidence shooting it, as to being able to place his shots at close and moderate range, than any other rifle he had ever owned and it made him happy to pull it out of the case now and pull back the bolt and shove a shell into the breech.”
