recently the importer started adding a long-ass rivet to ensure that an 11th round wouldn't fit. This may have made it harder to insert full on a closed bolt.

Not much a loop hole, as pointless piece of legislation.
If you're up for a challenge: Try to find any Canadian-relevant data that shows/explain why a 11rds magazine is anymore (or less) dangerous than a 5 (or 10) rounds magazine...

Nice magazine body by the way!

I thought these were crimped? Is there a rivet also?

True that! The magazine regulations has been a bigger debate than restricted firearms. It makes no difference to a criminal what their pinned to, as criminals are great at breaking laws. All this regulation does is penalize law abiding citizens that want to have fun at the range. I guess the gurus that wrote this law have never heard of owning multiple magazines haha. I can off load 40 rounds from 4 mags in 18-25 seconds. That’s starting with a holstered sidearm and no mag in the well. My average is 23 seconds with a 8” grouping at 25 yards so not to shabby for rapid fire. By all means not great, but proves a valid point of how the mag regulation does not play a factor in a well trained individual. Like this poster said, there’s no concrete proof that limiting rounds in a magazine increases the public’s Saftey. It’s just not out there because they can’t validate their claims.

Yes they are both. Crimped and a vertical rivet on the floorplate.

If someone else around the Delta, B.C. area is interested I'd be willing to go in with them for the bigger discount on a larger order.

Is crimped not good enough ?, why the secondary measure in the form of a rivet.
I haven't recieved mine yet so I am not sure how the rivet affects things.

Too bad they were not crimped at 10 1/2

Essentially they're 9 round mags if you ever plan on using them in a closed bolt. Might drill the rivet out to see if it fixes the problem.
