    There's a typo in the first post. It says $949 instead of $649.

    That’s the Sport II model, this is different.

    What are the differences between the sport II optics ready and the regular sport II model?

    Aside from the railed gas block.

    As far as I can tell it’s the gas block, one is a front sight base and the other is railed.

    ...So they took the MBUS rear off, and replaced the A2 front sight post with that big blocky pic rail thing... I would think that those 2 things might even each other out in price, and MSRP should still be in the $700 range? For a $950 M&P, I would expect at least a free-float forend.

    This is kinda weird...

    I was wondering that too and part of a price difference is a chrome-lined chamber and barrel! 6-position collapsible stock.
