Playing German BD42H at store

STG44 is my dream gun which impossible to have here in Canada, I know we can have a GSG STG44 but it is never be the same feeling as the real deal.

The closet one we recently got is this BD42H which is made by DITTRICH and yes it is restricted! It is copied from Maschinenkarabiner 1942 (machine carbine) AKA MKB 42(H).

The STG44 was after MKB 42W and leading to the famours AK47.







Shot open bolt and trigger pull is heavy! But I sure like the feeling of this baby!

I thought these were made prohib. I remember drooling over them before I even got my PAL surfing the marstar website. Then they took it down from what I remember.

If they are still available I would love to get one now.

The prohibited guns you are thinking of were the SSD BD38's (MP-38 repro) which were reclassified after they were determined "easily converted to full-auto" and were seized by the RCMP back in 2012/2013.

Thanks, I did some research to jog my memory and yes a huge shame to have them reclassified.

More important question is are they still in production and available?

A while back I saw a bd42 for sale for $12k from a site vendor. If my memory recalls I thought these were going for around $3-4k when they were available at marstar.

Which tells me these are high ticket collectibles now.

A friend of mine owns one and have shot it a couple of times. It’s pretty cool firing from an open bolt. When you squeeze the stiff trigger pull then the bolt travelsforward and fires. That is a weird feeling.
Even with all that it was accurate enough to hit a 8” gong easily at 100m.
