why didnt the factory think of that? there got to be a reason why they didnt do it that way.
I think it's the effort to be as much not like a real MP40 as much as possible. There has to be at least two dozen differences.

I tend to agree. Still I am considering the same modification but not until I am certain the gun isn't lemon. I suspect that would void any warranty.
