The material is a 50/50 Cotton polyester blend. The gorka is a thicker fabric than the paratrooper smock and the tan sections have been treated to be water resistant, with the green areas being completely waterproof. The paratrooper smock is made of the same material as the gorka but is untreated and a little more lightweight.

Gorka is Russian for mountain. That tells you the intent of these suits... They're intended to be a windproof and water resistant shell to wear over combats, although they're often worn alone. They're made out of various types of tent style fabric, some are a more coarse canvas and some are almost a ventile, the kind that you can't really find in the west anymore apart from one specialty manufacturer I know of. Gorka started off in the 80s during the Soviet war in Afghanistan, and have since been in use by a bewildering array of units both of internal and external troops in a bewildering array of models.
ANA is a good quality, mid tier manufacturer. SSO/SPOSN, Splav are the top, Bars and ANA are next. Really the difference in quality can be indistinguishable depending on model - ie you'd be hard pressed to note a big difference between the lower end models of Splav and the high end models of ANA. The price on these is darn good, you definitely couldn't order one direct from Russia for $125. You want to make sure the height is correct as well though. Russian sizes are written like 54/6, where the first two numbers is the size and the last number is the height. 7 is for 6'4", and it runs down from there in 2" increments.
