It's still his design since the AR15 is a scaled-down AR10 (notwhitstanding the design changes Sullivan did on the AR10 too, i;e: the centered over the bore gas tube/key/cam pin and rear charging handle).

And yes it was an AR15 before it was an XM16 since it was originally an ArmaLite designated rifle.

Lightbulb Not designed to HUNT people!

The AR-15 was never designed to "hunt people".
It was designed to defend people.

Another line is that it is not used in hunting.

I have heard for example 'that doctor' state on CBC that the .223 round somehow is only designed for attacking humans and cannot be used for hunting.

Again, this preys on the public ignorance of what calibers are used on what game in hunting.

.223 is not for deer but for appropriate game.

Well the AR can't help it not being used for hunting as they insisted on making it restricted.

So the lie that the AR is not used for hunting.

The .223 round it fires seems to think that it is used in hunting.......

    Mr. Coyote sure thinks so.....

    Also

There is a humane issue with using semi automatics.

The follow up shot comes without losing sight picture which can be critical to prevent a wounded animal from disappearing in a flash into the bush only
to suffer or involve possibly hours of searching.

This has entirely become a hysterical witch hunt devoid of any logic or rationality.

The idea of going after law abiding citizens over thugs and gangsters says it all.

Inanimate objects don't hunt people. Governments hunt people.

    Guns designed to hunt people.

It doesn’t matter what the guns were designed for, it matters who is using them.

All guns are appropriate for the people of Canada to use.

That’s right, every damned one of them.

And government has no business “cracking down.”

The government’s primary purpose is to protect your right to firearms with which to protect life, liberty, and property.

It is past time we cracked down on government failure to fulfill that purpose.

To demonstrate that public safety is not adversely affected by responsible people carrying to protect life, you also use the American experience.

The feds seem to be using their powers at the CBSA to further harass law abiding gun owners. When I order from Boyds gun stocks usually clear customs in less than an hour. My latest purchase has been stalled in customs for three days pending some kind of review. Just a heads up for people who purchase things stateside.
