COLT 1911 US NAVY Show off not for sale

Made in 1914, one out of 15,037 of Navy contract 1911 might be one of the most difficult standard issue 1911 to acquire.

All these issued to the battleship like Arizona, Pennsylvania, Nevada and Oklahoma. Maybe it was at Pearl Harbor? Most of these US Navy model be destroyed during war time.

When I got it, it has a different grips installed. After couple month searching, got a pair of Colt 1915 original diamond grips from a 90 years old US Marine. Return it back to orignal, now I am happy man.

    Very uncommon in any condition.

Does the frame still have the serial number or U.S. Property mark or has someone scrubbed it off? With that missing, it's sort of hard to determine if the frame is correct for the Navy slide.

    Regards,
    Steve

Very nice pistol,i have a friend who has a 4 digit serial number 1911 navy frame that was made in 1912 and shipped to the Brooklyn shipyard in a 1000 pistol batch. But over the years it ended up with a Army slide at one point, finding a Navy slide from that era is like looking for Unicorns LOL.

    Thanks for sharing.
But remember, that pistol is only original "once".
Finding those DD wood grips just makes it "correct".
...still a beaufiful M1911 US NAVY.
If you want to survive...then you must be built for the kill...
