This ain't 'Murica. Restricted rifles and pistols are treated essentially identically here.

If that be the case wouldn't the 3.5" barrel make this prohibited? While handguns with sub 4 1/4 is prohib does the same apply to rifles?

Whoops. Misread that. 3.5 hand guard. 4.4 barrel. My mistake. Looks like a fun package.

    Sorta

If its called a rifle and runs unique mags, then those mags would be limited to 5 rounds. (Like EVO and MPX)
If those were called pistols then they would be 10 rounds, but then barrel length wouldnt matter at they would always be restricted.

In this case those since they use glock mags then you WANT it to be a rifle. That way it is only restricted based on barrel length and you get the big mags.

Hence, essentially. From an end user perspective, there's little difference if the magwell accepts a pistol pattern magazine. I guess some rifles can be converted to NR if the FRT allows for it. But anyways.
