Yep, when police own AR-15's they call them "patrol carbines", but when we, vetted citizens own these for sporting purpose they call them "assault rifles", why double face standards for the exact same type of firearm?!

If you were to put a loaded handgun or AR15 on a table next to a TV remote control and left them alone for 1000 years, neither would kill anyone.... guns are not the problem. People are the problem. It’s simply a cultural issue that the politicians are unwilling to address. It’s easier to prohibit and seize guns from law abiding citizens for the optics and vote getting than getting serious about the root cause of gun crime. Once they take away our guns, gun crime will actually increase. It’s a phenomenon that has been seen in other countries, Mexico is a great example of this. Mexico like Canada, sees most serious gun crimes committed by illegal guns smuggled into the country. Only a politician desperate for votes would see this any other way.

It is ironic that the communist/left threat is not the Marxist doctrine waving and hammer & sickle banner crowd from the Kremlin etc we were taught to fear.

    Its the enemy from within.

Unprincipled interests cloaked in socialist clothing and using minority hyperbole issues and outrageous misrepresentation tactics while leveraging health and safety and public security scare tactics to put themselves into control.

Rather than custodians of Canada, its heritage and culture and its citizens....they are working to change the landscape to suit their control.

And entrench it by changing the culture to be intolerant of any other view/opinion or political party.

Start asking politicians why cops can have "Assault-Carbines"
The best time to buy a gun was 40 years ago, the second best time is today.

So their taxpayer supplied, armed security details can have them and that makes them feel safer?

    Correction:

In the hands of police they are called "Patrol Carbines", in the hands of the great unwashed "subjects", they are called "Assault Weapons".

In the hands of police the politicians feel safer; in the hands of mere "subjects" the politicians feel afraid. I wonder why that is?

“It is not, in any way, my intention nor my recommendation that we would do anything to restrict the activities of hunters and farmers or sports shooters who follow the rules, who are obeying the law and don’t represent a risk themselves to public safety,” he said
So as a legal firearms owner, who has never done anything but shoot paper at a range and goes above and beyond for legal and safety precautions... I guess he is calling me a criminal, because a AR15 ban would affect me.

This Toronto shooting that happened today will be certainly utilized by liberals and added to their "arsenal" against law abiding firearm owners.

I’m sure it was a valid PAL holder using a legally acquired firearm.. [/sarc]
