norinco being cheap is now a myth. they are almost as much as US, and in some cases more expensive than the US.
dont believe me? look at AR's, norinco AR $600, US $650. norinco doesnt make the M60, or MG34, or M249, so there is alot more cost on those weapon platforms to manufacture.

The price gap has shrunk to the point where it just isn't worth it to buy Chinese if there is an alternative product manufactured somewhere else to better standards. In many cases once you factor in the cost to quality ratio it's cheaper to spend more on the non Chinese product.
The days of "well if this cheap Chinese thing breaks I'll just throw it in the junk and go buy a couple more" are long gone.
It's impossible not to buy Chinese products but I always try to spend my money elsewhere first if there's an alternative.
