First Rifle Fx-9, WK180C, RDB

Hi guys,
I'll just get into it.
I'm looking for some advice on which of these Rifles would be good for a first rifle.
Fx-9, WK180C, RDB

I am hoping for a good range and out back plinker, target and 3 gun or Tac.
I do have RPAL.

I do like the GSG-15 buuut... funds are limited as they always are, and i'd like to get something that will scratch my itch plus have room to grow.

I basically played too many video games so this is the kind of thing I'd like to shoot with at a range. :cool::p:rolleyes:
I'm not much of a hunter but as I get out shooting more I figure I'll meet some good mentors.

I have an FX9 and bought it to have an AR style non res plinker. with cheap ammo it is surprisingly accurate. Its a cheap gun but a lot of fun. A bit picky about ammo but with the right ammo runs well.

always out of stock and like everything here hard to get.
 
All three are a fine choice I have an fx9 and love it Ar style plinker very cheap to shoot if you can get tenda bulk sales on 9mm it’s like 23-25 cents per round bullseye has 19 of them in stock free ship so if your inclined to get one. If you do decide to get this get a few 33rd sticks they look great in it but on the off hand I would get some of those ets clear see through mags for the fx9.

I’d take the wk over the rdb just cuz I’m one of those guys who prefer something metal over polymer plastic but both are probably better for three gun 223 will reach much further than 9mm still reliable fun plinker. Canadian made, kodiak has done a great job and I’m sure after market will follow seeing how popular it already is and I’m sure it will be further developed.

Rdb is still a good choice much more compact being bullpup and lighter much more ambi friendly cool bottom eject I’d get the version with a pistol grip tho.

Is it a certain weight of ammo, brand or something else?

Roger all that! I guess I should have mentioned I am left eye dominant but right handed. Is that a show stopper for any of these? Imo, no, but maybe a bit slow on the reloading in competition. I wasn't expecting any trophies, just fun.

I have not figured it out ... it works with some brand 115 gr but not with blazer brass 115 but it works with blazer brass 124 .

I think it is for once the recoil has to be strong enough and bullet length may play a role

As per break in any 115 and 124 will be fine stay away from any aluminum cased as they will literally be ripped apart and smashed.
You’ll see a few FTE or doubles but after like 200rd+ iv had no issues whatsoever I’m guessing it’s the stiff spring needed to be compressed a few times. If I had the choice to buy it again I would lots of fun at the range.

mine will not run with 115gr blazer brass

I read a few people had an issue like that in that other thread they apparently fixed it with a less stiff spring and sometimes a lighter buffer. I had that issue but just kept feeding the thing and now no trouble.

i could not find parts in canada and just went to 124 gr blazer brass :(
 
Bought a WK180c no regrets. Had an extractor spring issue, Kodiak stepped up immediately. No regrets, love 223/556 tried my buddy's 9mm carbine loved the low recoil and cheap 9mm ammo, but found the lack of distance shooting boring. Looked at the RDB, but the use of poly and US support pushed me to the Canadian made Kodiak.

Alright to sum it up if I find it doesn't like a particular ammo keep trying every 100 rounds or so.

I love that the Wk180c was designed and built in Canada for our market. And having a greater reach and lower price makes it pretty attractive as well. Are they sold out cuz they are awesome or are they getting some bugs worked out? What's the best way to get one?
