Technically the GSG 16 is not a variant or modified version of the MP5 as then it would be prohibited . I think everyone should be careful if they say and advertise it as a MP5 or variant . Just count your lucky blessing that HK sued GSG and the GSG 5 and that was settled in the lawsuit in 2009 . So they made this version not to be a MP5 as HK would sue them again . So we ended up with a non variant of a variant of a MP5 . https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/...cease-shortly/
So what’s the Canadian total shipped to your door (roughly) for those that ordered one? I was just on the website trying to get a final quote in USD but it kept wanting a dealers address to complete the order.

305+25 = 330$ US
Official conversion rate is 1.32, but your credit card will take an extra 1-3% on top of that, so let's say 1.34 (you can call your CC company to ask)
330*1.34 = 442$
For that price, the gun makes it to alberta. Then you have to add shipping and taxes. Tax is 5%, shipping by IRG from alberta to you is on the extreme side, so I'd say about 35$ (you won't know until they are ready to ship, but 35$ is in the right ballpark).
Total:
Taxes: 442 * 1.05 = 464$
Shipping: 464 + 35 = 499$
That's an estimate, to get the exact price you'd need your exact CC exchange rate (varies by company and by card), and the exact shipping price. But 500$ +/- 20$ should be about it.
Back when I had my Troy PAR bought from the first pre order to Canada...when IRG's was the first to bring them to Canada, another Canadian vendor who scooped up the so called "rights" to them promptly posted threads about how any "grey market" items that weren't purchased from them ....wouldn't be covered by warranty.
The audacity to make such an agregious comment to people having legally purchased the item (with their hard earned cash) "BEFORE" they even had the so-called rights.....was arrogant and desperate...to say the least.......not to mention pretty low class.
I was so pissed off when I read that, I called Troy industries in the states and talked to their customer service. The person on the phone was shocked that a dealer of theirs would make that claim...and gave me the number for their regional manager..and asked me to call him personally and explain what I told them.
I called them ...he was a super nice guy on the phone, he said that Troy loved their Canadian customers and under "no circumstance would Troy not cover one of their products from Canada" ....and that all I would have to do is have it sent back thru the FFL vendor I purchased it from, as to expediate cross-border dealings to get it back to them.
He also said he was planning on looking into my complaint very seriously.....and thanked me for taking the time to call him.
That came straight from the so-called "horses mouth"
So believe IRG's when they say that they have you covered warranty wise, and I myself would have "zero" issues at all purchasing from IRG's on any day of the week ...and any product...as they are an awesome TOP NOTCH company to deal with
My 2 cents

Ya the warranty is likely fine, but I bet if you send it in, by the time they export it to the states, send it to the dealer, get it fixed, and than export it back to Canada, kiss your gun goodbye for 6 months.

(Its not the ZOMBIES that scare me, it is THE NEW WORLD ORDER)
Most Canadian warranty centers are very small operations and any warranty issue is almost guaranteed to take 6 months, no matter where you purchased the firearm. Getting warranty service on a firearm purchased in Canada is always a mess.
I'm much happier to wait the same amount of time only to have my gun serviced by people who see 50+ times the number of guns per year as the Canadian tech would.
