OIC: Amnesty extends to October 30, 2023

Canada Gazette, Part 2, Volume 156, Number 6: Order Amending the Order Declaring an Amnesty Period (2020)

    https://canadagazette.gc.ca/rp-pr/p2/2022/2022-03-16/html/sor-dors45-eng.html

The amended Amnesty Order addresses these issues and seeks to maintain public safety, facilitate compliance with the law, and support the exercise of rights recognized and affirmed by section 35 of the Constitution Act, 1982. In order to allow further time for individuals to come into compliance with the law, the amended Amnesty Order extends the expiry date to October 30, 2023.

The thought of all those criminals that might honk their car horns scared them.

The legal challenges have an injunction hearing scheduled in April, and also that I suspect they are nowhere near ready to execute any buy back plan other than still trying to figure out a general framework how that will work. Save themselves the embarrassment.

We can Assume 3 things, election prior to that month, libs are constantly planning more bans, and the work on the confiscation plan will not stop.

this is indeed a sign Liberals do not want to push the issue at this time my thought is a election is expected prior to that time, it will be a election pledge to stiffen gun laws, the down side is another 18 months not being able to take my firearm to the range

The Libs want to make sure the next election happens before the public finds out what the cost of confiscation will be. They can keep lying and telling everyone that it'll be really affordable and then apologize after and blame non compliance on horrible Conservative gun owners.
