Which did you find was better and why ?

I have two Norinco 1911s that I purchased to customize for my boys. Soon I found that the Norinco slides are all hardened by heat treatment as the material is just week in its original state; after heat treatment it becomes hard to machine, lots of tool marks, etc. I would not be surprised if Norinco frames show cracks way before other cheaper 1911s. That is, of course, my personal opinion as a metallurgical engineer. I ended up purchasing a furnace, remove the hardening and work on the frames and slides, and reharden them...

Tisas 1911 uses tougher material that does not need heat treatment to work as intended. That tells me they use higher-grade material. No apparent tool marks, good surface finish. A gunsmith friend of mine works on these guns often, he is happy with parts interchangeability as well.

Besides all the above, I'm from Turkey so completely biased on the matter...

Hope this helps...
