They won't seize the rifle, per say. Look at the language of the text. "2 year amnesty". If you haven't turned it in by then there will be a bench warrant with your name on it.

In the end, the Liberals clearly understand that law abiding gun owners will comply with the law, no matter how unjust.

All they will get from me is the stripped lower. I'll keep the rest. Let's all do our part to make sure it doesn't happen.

We asked for the number of firearms that are considered a variant of the M16/AR-15 as per SOR/98-462.

Basically anything in the "black rifle" section, no doubt. Tavor, XCR, CX4, Vector, the HK's, the FN's, T97, JR carbine, etc. It's looking to be crucially important that Trudeau gets sent packing in October.

This is a party that has no problem "donating" hundreds of millions to foreign countries and foreign ngo's. No accountability with taxpayers money.

That's just ar15s. Imagine how many nonrestricted semiautos are out there. How many wk180, stag10, bcl/troy102, Etc. have been sold this year alone?

This is 250,000 out of 14 million guns, or 1.7 %.
Bill Blair suggests that people do what Australian's did -- use the buy back money to buy new guns. ( http://y2u.be/TFZK1cq6MgM )

Thus it won't affect gun deaths, in terms of suicide or accidents. The semi-automatic feature of a gun has no effect on suicide.

It won't measurably affect homicide, because most of those guns aren't this type of gun, or from this source. So it's not just that it will be less than 1.7% of a difference of homicide, it'll be more like 1/10,000 of a percent of a reduction, which is to say none at all. Not a single life.

There's only been one case of a registered AR-15 being used in a homicide in Canada, and that was stolen.
One eye to the past. One eye to the future. The wisest course.
