the ar patent has expires, and the hk 416 uses an ar-18 short stroke piston which has also expired, but im not sure if the 416s patent is still good or not. mildot would know, don't think i can tag people on here though

China doesn’t honor patents, so it doesn’t matter.

Patent expires, also there are already some companies building HK416 clones in North Amercian in last few years. Check Titan Defense 415, OR Coharie Arms CA-415 which is Amercian clone of HK416.
