    Same here.
NO CONFLICT OF INTEREST TO DISCLOSE “Laws that forbid the carrying of arms . . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes . . . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.” Cesare Beccaria

You don't need a spring to keep the bolt locked. It's like a K31.

Drawings might have not been the best term.

I meant a rendering of what it'll look like...like the ones you posted of the receiver.

I'm really having a hard time envisioning how this is going to work if it's just a straight back and forth push/pull and no spring.

Like a K31 or Ross Rifle. Pull a knob back, push it forward.

    OK... I think I understand.

Either way I'm in... curiosity's just got the best of me now

Yup, gotcha. So a very significant change from the current BCG then. The final push will actuate the lugs, and the initial pull will disengage them.

On the bright side, you can fully free-float the barrel and eke out a little bit more accuracy out of it.
If you're going through hell, keep going.

Oh, and FWIW, the reason I asked about the pistol version is because of this little project:

Cool concept but would be classified as restricted. Need to maintain OAL for NR. Don’t want to give the horsemen any reason to reclassify this as restricted. That is the same reason no one wants someone to put a 16” barrel on one of the NR receiver sets out there.

Good to see some innovation, modular potential using readily available parts. Why not a spring like a buffer that locks the bolt forward similar to the POF straight pull? Just pull back and release, or possibly a pump action design. A straight pull or a pump is doable with AR parts.
