Not really. We've evaluated the first lower, found a couple of minor things to change, and are now working on the CAM so we can machine the next iteration of it. We're also working on the carrier. We are still waiting for tools to do the upper, and once we have them we will start work on it. Unfortunately there won't be much visual progress in the next couple of weeks.

So the first lower turned out great. A couple of minor issues to fix. We should have the 2nd updated lower complete soon. Then it's on to the upper.

How much of a chamfer do you have for the magwell opening?
If you're going through hell, keep going.

Friday Update: We've finished evaluating the first lower and made minor changes. We also made some fixturing (pictured) to hold the lower better during machining. CAM work on the carrier is in progress, and we're hoping to start the upper next week.

Have you tried a detachable carry handle on the upper? Some of us like to shoot old school irons. Because from your renderings the spacing on of the slots on your upper don't look like they are in the correct sport for a detachable carry handle. I can lend you one if you need.

As much as I hate the idea of potential ban being a reason for development of this receiver but I love the creativity and ability to reuse the AR parts. It also serves another purpose, barrel length all of a sudden is a non-issue as long as the whole rifle with the stock collapsed is at least 26.001" long. The AR part-market is huge so it still could stay the lego for adults and in case of ban/reverse, you can quickly build yourself a great AR again.

Even if there’s no ban, I’d still be interested in a set.
