We can only speculate what the Liberals intend to ban. The most anyone has gotten out of them was when Bill Blair said he's going to use OICs to ban "Military style assault weapons like this one". (Speaking about the Mini 14)
He not got a clue what he's talking about and he lies with ease. So even words straight from his mouth broadcast on live TV don't count for much.
We can only speculate what will happen.
Update: Yesterday we managed to test fire the Light Practical Carbine. From our test firing we have a few minor things to tweak with the bolt, but everything else is good. As for a video, we have a short clip on our instagram, and we will have more to come. For the first test firing we were more concerned with debugging a couple things, and staying warm.
There are many people in this thread who think we should ship these guns immediately without an FRT. We completely understand everyones excitement to get these guns. Unlike the Kodiak and ATRS offerings this gun is a 100% new design. It's not a variant of any existing non-restricted firearm. We will be getting an FRT for this gun. Being a bolt action we expect the FRT process to be much quicker than semi-automatic rifles.
Glad it's going well. Saw the video. Looks like a handy rifle. What would one need to do to change it to 9mm? If using one of those magwell kits, the lower would be ok. I know the bolt is proprietary, so would you need to come up with a 9mm bolt?
Insert clever signature here...
Should be late this week. We are preparing a very detailed technical data package to help ensure a smooth FRT process. This takes time to prepare, however is necessary.
I would also like to point out that while we wait for the FRT we need to figure out a lot of things for the production run, such as production fixturing, tooling, optimizing the tool paths, raw materials, finishing, hardware... etc. Lots of work to do yet.
I don't have instagram. Can you post video here?
Man, I'd be all over that like stink on a chimp. We've needed a light, handy bolt-action 9mm Para carbine for a long, long time around here.
Once the heavy developmental lifting had been done on that, I bet a guy could sell a ton of them in 7.62x25 as well...
Not sure if you've been thanked enough for continuing to bring smart, innovative products to our market. Kudos to you and your team. I love a good bureaucratic workaround more than most, and this is just feckin' brilliant.
