It is a small, and maybe too complex point, but every time there is gun legislation, things are made worse even from the perspective of the grabbers. The registry was the cause of the huge increase of restricted arms ownership in the country. And one can pretty much link up all the gun legislation in the last 60 years (as far as I am aware of), with similar blunders.
Right now the thing that seems the most obvious on the horizon is that they are moving in a direction that will push the illegal gun trade, sorta illegal gun trade promotion act. As the jokers who figured out you can't ban MJ, and so they legalized it (but got no reduction in the criminal trade), they are not ideally placed to see the threat they are currently toying with. Criminals promote the gun trade when they take it over. They don't just sit on their hands.
Anyway, if you get a chance, mention how gun laws have generally not just made matters worse for shooter, but have actually had unintended consequences that should be of interest to banners. Even the CBC, which is far left of left, at least in TO, has been giving voice to anti-gang activists, who say guns are not the issue. So there may be some opening for a different message.
Could someone who is computer savvy please put a link on this thread on what the new Zealanders prohibited, pretty please!?
People are asking what could/would/will be prohibited. Read what they did down there and watch our fearless leader will try to one up that load of foolishness!
Semi auto everything! AR's to Remi 1100's to 1022's you name it.
High cap pumps 870's, 500's etc. etc. etc.
You have to read it to believe it folks but it will send a shiver down your spine!
Look at all the real cool stuff being on sale now! Retailers don't want to be caught with a pile of inventory but the sale could be good if they grandfather classifications if you own one now?
If I had a crystal ball I wouldn't be sitting here typing this mind you!
I think that by and large people understand that gun control does little good, but they only get interested when they are presented with something that hurts them. Outside of that, it is good news to most anti-gun types that gun owners are being screwed, but the government looses support as soon as the pain is spread more broadly. The registry was far too expensive for what good it might have done, but as a vanity project, it was not that expensive really. It served a number of useful functions politically and cathartically, so it was interesting how little expensive it took to make the public turn against it.
I did see the list and shook my fists in the air in front of my computer screen - would like to add probably (will) ban anything that has a threaded barrel because you can install a silencer and it now became a weapon of war - you don't need a threaded barrel to shoot deer - I've said this a few times I think Canada is halfway down the chit hole now
Envy green is not a color well worn. Might want to quit while you're ahead
Always a good time to stop paying taxes, certainly the welfare dependents will run interference if money is being spent buying guns while there is nothing left for them.
Also if buying back the guns will immediately downgrade Canadian credit and result in instantly higher interest rates, that helps make them rethink the position.
If they can’t even pay someone to knock on the door, it won’t happen, or if it does they will be looking for taxes not guns.
Even if you won’t push the issue on guns, not paying taxes will greatly help those who do, while giving those who would advance civilian disarmament bigger problems to deal with.

"People who have never owned or used one claim that the Remington pump guns are not as accurate as their bolt guns.
And the people who own and shoot them just chuckle at those statements."
I think we are : ONE STEP FORWARD AND ONE STEP BACKWARD ! At this current time !
I was thinking that if every Canadian that voted conservative stopped all discretionary spending we could send a message to Trudeau and Blair and the reset of the Liberals that we stand together!
It is legal to do this (save money).
It is good for you and your family to stop spending and put the money into TFSA (Double Budget Hit for the Liberals).
Hit them where it hurt...MONEY!!!
Don't give them ammunition against us
Lets keep this professional and civil.
You might need this money for legal defense.
The less tax money we give the Liberal government, the less power they will have (money = power)
Yes there will be some collateral damage, but this is a fight for our freedom.
I have had my hunting and FAC/PAL since I was 16.
I have one speeding ticket when I was 16 and one at 25.
My household income is 250K, and we are working for the man, so you know the taxes we pay.
And I am the gun problem in Canada?
