    SIG 540 Swiss Arms

So we picked this up on trade, can anyone date this rifle?

    .243 Win
    Barrel Length 470mm
    NON-RESTRICTED
    Manufactured by Manurhin in France

Appears to have only a few mags cycled through it. Sitting in a safe for a long time!

We will be listing it for sale shortly.

Manufactured 1973-1986 If I'm not mistaken. Judging by the serial #, I would say early 80's. Probably 82 based on the fact that only 80,000 units were made.

I'm not allowed to date anymore since I got married.

Wasn’t aware that the SIG 540 was manufactured in .243 Win by Manurhin. Sweet find.

Yeah the French actually made them before Chile. Different setup than the 54X's we have up here. Takedown is different among a few other things. Had no idea they were made in .243 either. Pretty cool.
