    I'm not sure about the other models but the trap deluxe I received has really light colored wood. It's almost like a beachwood color. It looks great with the silver colored frame, but a little odd with the dark blue barrels. I'm wondering if this color was an option and others are dark walnut?

    the trap and skeet guns all seem to have the lighter wood

    If the wood is not lacquered, that is actually good news... Linseed oil, shaft-oil was used back in the day, now there are commercial products. Keep rubbing with these products, it will get darker as you use it anyhow...

    It's a beautiful satin finish and the grain is nice with a bit of tiger stripe
    shimmer on top. I'm going to use a finishing paste wax to protect it. It just looks a little lighter in daylight. It will definitely stand out in the rack at the range.
