I read this and I thought this was some sort of pick up line, but yeah I do agree with that use the buddy system when you're shooting or unlicensed and yes mental illness is a issue

Is it wrong to love the clack clack bang, but wanna run from a click tick lol
I used to work full-time at DVC Indoor Shooting Center in Vancouver for a number of years. At first, we allowed solo unlicensed shooters. Years ago, we had one individual visit the range that gave the staff a really bad vibe - thankfully nothing happened, but we changed our policy immediately following. Solo licensed shooters are totally fine, but unlicensed shooters have to come with at least one other person.
While it can be a bit inconvenient for some, the policy is effective as other ranges have noted. Thankfully DVC has never had a serious incident like a suicide.
This policy is fine in my book... but it is also done in Florida, a buddies wife works at a range there and we used to exchange stories when I worked at one.... and I mean if don't allow in FLORIDA... you know it is serious. :-)
I hate autocorrect. I always end up posting some thong I didn't Nintendo.
First time I started reading this post I thought....
No single shot firearms were allowed, then after a few comments.....
Only married people were allowed to shoot and wondered what kind of ID or proof they wanted.
But now I get it.
A definitely good idea IMO.
Does not entirely eliminate the problem as you can have two or more problem people etc.
More rare definitely.

So are Solo licensed shooters still allowed at Wild West?
pandering to paranoia produces pointless prosecutions of people

Nobody takes their friend with them to kill themselves. It’s a good policy for all gun rental ranges to adopt.
