An interesting product/application.
As said, it'd certainly reduce the ammunition cost.
But looking at the application (I bought it by the way) - it appears to be more suited to red dots etc, rather than more traditional optics.
No doubt it can be used for traditional optics - but considering they do not appear to be included in the application, it does seem to reduce it's cross-capabilities.

We gave this app a run today. It really works! Saves you a lot of time, frustration and ammo.
Never ever ever (ever) zero the red dot against a set of irons, even if they co-witness.
Well the result of that is the ACRO P-2 was off by 33 clicks to the left and 22 clicks down from 10 meters. Missing the letter size paper entirely if shot at 20+ meters away.
Shoot another 5 rounds, making minor adjustments this time.
Sight is now zero'd. (The top and bottom shot were fliers, as the pistol was shot free hand, standing. The whole process took only 10 minutes.

I do this frequently and have never had any issues lol. Wierd.

So he literally talks about it in the video. If you co witness your dot to your irons it's perfectly acceptable and logical. You are referring to "slaving" your red dot to your front sight, which yes is very dumb to do lol. He talks about this at the 5:30 mark for reference.
