This is good news. Let's hope Saskatchewan follows suit.

Ask the SK MPPs, that's how the ball gets moving.

In agreement with many above, for the motion to be meaningful AB will need its own CFO and police force. We'll need an Attorney General to work with both those to define what practical applications (and interpretations) of firearms laws will be enforced in AB.

We have a chance to not be reckless and not enforce anything, but to be leaders in fashioning some world class regulations that let us have our semi's and handguns, take them to defined areas and enjoy them. Showing we're serious about storage regs, initial licensing (and maybe renewals), are draconian in enforcing prosecution and sentencing of criminal (gang, drug, robbery) use of / possession of firearms and are reasonable about classification / possession rules might just change the national conversation.

Way to make a stand! It’s sad that common sense is a stand against the federal government.

I could be mistaken but I seem to recall that Alberta Crown was refusing to prosecute firearms owners who didn’t comply with the failed registry.

RCMP can charge, if it becomes a C.C offense to retain legally obtained property, but they still rely on Crown to take it to trial.

A Provincial Police Force, and giving the boot to gun grabbing RC’s would be a step forward. Albeit, many RC’s are fine folks - I’m talking about the weak thinking ones exclusively.

Mr. Dress-up, and his minister of confiscation, may find Alberta a thorn in their side.

    Go Alberta!

May just write my NDP MLA tomorrow to ask her how she voted and suggest I'd be pleased if she supported all further pro firearms initiatives. I need to find out a bit more on the actual motion and event. I find Kenny's pretty sleezy but I keep finding more and more to like about him and his govt,
