As of this post, we are almost at 99,000 signatures. I exhausted ask all my family and friends verbally. What i did was go on Facebook and each of my Canadian friends, I sent an individual PM starting off something personal to them (Happy New year, congrates on new baby, wedding, vacation, etc) then added:
"sorry to bug you but am just covering all my bases. I'm asking all my FB gun friendly buddies to confirm they have signed the ePetition which is against the federal government trying to slip in an Order in Council (OIC) to ban certain firearms without going through the democratic process of debate in the House of Commons. We are trying to get over 100,000 signatures before 27 January when they sit back in HOC. If you have signed it already, thank you. Please ask your Canadian friends & family to sign, too. They already know how upset you are with Trudeau's Liberals wanting to ban our legally acquired firearms. Thanks again! http://e2341.ca/ "

The gun control debate moved from proposal to legislation in early 1995. On February 14, Rock introduced Bill C-68 in the Commons. The next few months would test the Liberals as nothing else had. This single issue moved them from soaring, 80-percent approval ratings to low 50’s. some of them whispered, some uttered directly - that the MPs who opposed gun control weren’t real Liberals anyway and the caucus would be better off without them. Neither Rock nor Shaughnessy said this aloud to the dissenters, but Iftody described the justice minister as "remarkably insensitive" to the political damage he was causing with gun control. He said Rock would regularly report to his caucus the accolades he was receiving in Toronto for his stand. The rural MPs would mutter in their seats, "How brave of you, when you’re not paying the price."
