Looks like there out of the backpacker in black, guess I gotta wait till stock comes in.
 
So the backpacker forend sold separately does not come with the take down mechanism?

In other words, if I buy a new barrel, I can just slap this forend on and work with my backpacker receiver?
 
The Magpul forend doesn't come with the takedown mechanism. You need to re-use the existing one from the stock barrel or buy one separately. Somebody mentioned that either one of the vendors can get them or perhaps it was the Canadian Ruger warranty/service centre.

I want to get a the Backpacker forend in gray. Looks like SFRC only has the X-22 Hunter forends right now.
 
Thanks Arugess. I'm going to order from brownells, I have a gray stock currently, and sfrc only had the fde and sold out.

Need to find that TD mechanism, will call Ruger on Monday.
