Buy a 6.5 and swap on a 308 18" Carbon Fibre barrel. Save some more weight and make length.

I've spoken to MD and they are working on a non restricted 308. They only have the 6.5CR and requested FRT for that.
RCMP filled in the gaps and created the restricted FRT based on 16inch barrel OAL.
That's incorrect. The restriction here is on length of under 660mm by folding or colapsing. The Troy PAR has a similar layout and it's thread on brake is the only thing keeping it NR.

Well for whatever reason, Sig or the importer/distributor didn’t bother to attach a muzzle device or the RCMP chose to classify it without... regardless, the 16” barrel versions have been classified as restricted in the FRT. I don’t see that changing unless someone provides a new variant to the RCMP to classify which would take another year if anyone even bothers.

The 6.5 keep coming in...feeding the rumours. Still no official position from the distributor!

The Sig Sauer Cross is here in .308. It has been measured, checked and verified. It is NON RESTRICTED. We are awaiting the correct FRT#.
