Reverse Fake Suppressor with Linear Compensator

Not sure if this was already discussed here, but would adding the fake can onto a shorter barrel essentially act like a barrel extension of sorts?

If the gasses are essentially "trapped" just a bit longer, therefore pushing the bullet for just few more inches (yes I realize that the inside channel of the fake can would be slightly larger in diameter, but still better than nothing at all), thus possibly gaining some extra fps?

Also, by the same token...would this lessen the noise from the shooter perspective (not by design of course), since a longer barrel would mean the blast comes out a little bit further away from the shooter?
