I've never done a pre order before.
Is it normal to put down a deposit before you know what the final cost is going to be?
Or is it a "If you've got to ask, you can't afford it" kind of situation?
Also known as "Dewey Cox" on other forums.

Pre-orders is for suckers imho. There will be plenty on guns available when they hit the market. If they go out of stock, colt will make more, the importer will import more, and retailers will sell more. It's not like concert tickets where there's a limit to how many can be sold. There's no reason to pre-order.

Most pre-orders on guns in canada turn out pretty bad. If you put a non-refundable deposit on a pre-order, you're being stumped. Putting a deposit without knowing the final cost is like bringing the rope for your own lynching imho.
