TSA has confiscated a lot of those. Not allowed to fly with them. The TSA Instagram page that shows off stuff they confiscate is littered with those.If there's no metal inside, take the ring off, put the cat/dog in your pocket and none will know.

You may get through, you may not. Probably not a problem if you check it though, but it would an easy thing to forget on your keychain and get confiscated.
