Just so everyone is aware, if the rcmp lab can make the rifle fire a single shot with an ar15 upper, to them its an ar 15. This has historically been done using wire and ductape. So if an AR 15 upper fits the brn 180 lower, and fires a single shot, and explodes as a result, yes, its an ar 15 lower. Thats just the ridiculous laws folks, thought youd all be used to the lack of logic by now.

If it can't work as an AR15 it's not an AR15
But it does work. (single shot)

The same argument could be made for a Palmetto State Armory AR-9, (or similar Angst Arms 9mm rifles.)

You can mate any .223 upper to their lower, and fire off a shot.
You can't insert a magazine and shoot semi-auto. But you can fire it single shot.
So they are restricted as an AR-15 variant.

Now compare that to the Freedom FX-9 rifle.

They used a proprietary (oddball sized) receiver for their build.
No AR-15 upper can be mated to their lower. Simply not possible.
Therefore non-restricted if barrel is long enough.

I'm afraid the case is closed on this one.

Brownell BRN-180 was designed to an AR lower's dimensions it was meant to be used on any AR lower, it doesn't even fit on an AR 180 lower.

PSA and Angstadt are both classified as an AR variant not because RCMP can fire a single shot out of a 223 upper, but rather Colt already have a 9 mm rifle (model 6951) the upper will work with the PSA and Angstadt without any modification, model 6951 was made, market and sold by Colt as a AR 15 variant.

Brownells needs to make a BRN180 upper that fits the NODAK lowers. Looks like it would be relatively simple given how their uppers are made. Would be a big seller up here

They aren't AR15 receivers because they do not share a history. they are modified AR180s which are not restricted by name.
Sales are final and offers are valid for 24hrs.

I need to drill and tap one hole to make it compatible with every AR-15 upper ever made.

    One hole.

You are correct that the AR180 is not restricted by name. It is prohibited by name. Class 12(5).
