They're not for wetlands at all. Everywhere around where I live and southern Ontario in general you see their big billboard "another successful ducks unlimited wetlands restoration project" no, all I see is a puddle or a trickle of a drainage ditch with some dead grass growing around it with your name on it. They just buy up land they can get tax return on and put a sign up like they did something. At least delta waterfowl will actually work on a project.

And the people who own and shoot them just chuckle at those statements."

In addition, Canada Revenue Agency guidelines stipulate that DUC can only engage in political activities that further our charitable purpose of wetland conservation.

Pursuant to Canada Revenue Agency guidelines, DUC can only engage in political activities that further our charitable purpose.

Q: Why won’t you share the firearms e-petition with DUC supporters?
A: Pursuant to Canada Revenue Agency guidelines, DUC can only engage in political activities that further our charitable purpose of wetland conservation. While sharing the e-petition may seem like a harmless request, doing so would represent the first step of policy engagement outside our mission.

I am an accountant by trade. I'm not a tax accountant but rather a managerial account... so I don't claim t be an expert on the Canada Revenue Agency and its policies.

However, I am perplexed as to how the CRA can ultimately say "yeah or nay" to what they deem as acceptable (or unacceptable) "political activities." to any non-profit organization.... ???

Say for example, Rod and Tracy at the CCFR made the decision to media or even financial support/donation to a "youth at risk outreach program" what right does the CRA have intervening.... what right does the CRA go the the CCFR and say you can't do this because "it is outside side of your mandate"...

I would suspect that Ducks Unlimited gets a chunk of funding from the federal government... and they are hiding behind the CRA because they simply do not to make any waves that might cancel their meal-ticket

Accuracy is a matter of time and money. How much do you want to spend?

It's clear they crunched the numbers, and government hand outs far out weigh the grass roots efforts. I'm willing to be they in the next few years even shift further into environmentalism, leading to them barring all hunting on their land, calling them water foul conservation areas.

    Thanks Stephen Harper,

As a board member of a nonprofit organization I am well aware of the gag order legislation Harper passed. This removes nonprofit tax status if an organization uses its fund to support political positions, essentially. They used it to shutdown the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society because they were promoting letter writing campaigns trying to get Harper to do good things. DU using their resources to promote gun control lobbying for either side of the debate can legally allow CRA to remove there charitable status. End of story. Basically a freedom of speech gag order. Just remember who did this to us. It’s okay to use it on tree huggers but it can now also be used against us. The auditor for the organization I sit on the board of warns us not to do what Ducks also says they can’t do or CRA can and will make your nonprofit taxable on all the donations and income you get.

I would have to agree with your statement... its just so more Liberal long term social engineering.... moving us away from "Canadian Traditions" an more towards environmentalism (cities and cars of the future that are powered by unicorn flatulence) and a guns-free socialists utopia style of life

I wasn't aware of this so I did some research. It sounds like those policies may have been reversed?

I think Delta Waterfowl does a better job at everything we would like Ducks Unlimited to do.
Today could be the last day of the rest of your life.
