Selective immigration/refugee acceptance isn't open borders. Unskilled people doesn't bankrupt the country's social safety net; it's people who abuse the social safety net that bankrupts it; just like banning guns isn't the solution to solving crime; banning immigrants isn't the magic bullet either. Finding a way to eliminate abuses to our safety net is the solution. Saying capitalism isn't perfect is just as irrelevant as saying communism isn't perfect. We actually know pure capitalism doesn't work either, just like pure communism doesn't work. We need to remember that there doesn't exist a country that is purely capitalist or commuist; it's a spectrum, ie we are all somewhere in the middle. Americans are more capitalist than we are, but they have their trade offs, too.

Let's not see things in extremes; instead of giving up on the country/its laws/institutions, let's work harder to turn another liberal into a gunnut. Let's dare them to shoot a gun, let's bribe them with pumpkin spice lattes, let's show them a good time, let's win them over. Regardless or religion, ethnicity, political affiliation, firearm ownership should be something that UNITES people, and not something that divides people.

They don't have to agree.... divorce can be brought about by one party of a relationship.

If marxists and socialists were against guns, why did Karl Marx encourage firearm ownership? Why did we start a chapter of the Socialist Rifle Association in Canada, filled with diversity a Liberal could only dream of virtue-signaling about? Ohh, that's right, because we're not gun-grabbing neo-liberals. IMHO, this is a dog whistle for people that are alienated by our broken system, and need someone different to blame for their problems. I'm not passing judgement but pointing out a long-standing pattern that this behaviour stems from a lack of recognition that their grievances are the result of our self-serving neo-liberal political parties that don't represent us. We're all pawns for our leader's political career. These petty squabbles between left/right/center are tools to divide us and distract from the reality of our oppression. Please, let's stay united because we're all in this together !

Think about it, our economy is going to scheite alongside our political process. Many of us have lost our employment in the oil sector, our teachers and police are already feeling the pinch of austerity and our manufacturing sector isn't far behind. The rich owner-class (which compose the ruling-class) could never represent the working-class, because they never worked minimum-wage for a day in their life. They would lower minimum-wage in a heartbeat if they could get away with it.

A proper socialist party would have ample social programs to retrain our destitute workers and ease their transition into gainful employment in a new green economy, but instead we're left with skyrocketing debt and a housing crisis causing large parts of the middle-class to become homeless. Teachers, Doctors and Police cannot afford to live in the city. My endocrinologist drives 600km to Toronto everyday, to go to work, because she practically lives in her car. I can't tell you how many homeless Torontonians I've met living in a shanty in the woods next to a reserve, 1200km from Toronto. People are getting desperate and having nothing left to lose, violence and riots isn't far behind if our government doesn't smarten up and fix the problems they've collectively created. I'm not surprised the city is ripe with violence, it's to be expected. I can't imagine the hardship our public servants are experiencing, considering they're not getting paid for their labour.

Why do you think they're trying to buy back our long guns? They're not worried about smuggled prohibs in Toronto, they're trying to keep us pacified like mainland China, while we're turning into Brazil, by injecting money through disarmament rather than employment. As for the whole issue concerning "divorce", I don't think the US will be happy with Balkanization on their borders because it will lead to violence and political instability. We're better off as a united federation but our government is making damn sure we're all equally phoqued over except their financial interests, ofcourse. But, if you really want to leave our federation and fly an american battle flag, SVP crisser ton camp en paix.

Does anyone actually want to keep the monarchy? Seriously, this has to be a joke right ? You can keep your pedophile princes, I'll keep my Obrez, thank you very much.

George Orwell fought alongside socialists to protect democracy and fight the fascist scourge, during the Spanish Civil War. He later regretted not fighting for the federalist libertarian socialists specifically because the authoritarian socialists phoqued them over, HARD, and even called him a fascist for opposing the soviets influence. Please think back to history class, how WW1 lead to WW2. Germany was a democratic republic but when their economy collapsed, so did their democracy which lead to a multi-term rule by an authoritarian coward who would stop at nothing, except by his own hand.

Please learn from history, and never trust an authoritarian statist of any shape or colour or their promises of the benefits from divorce because they're lying by omission about the hardships associated while everyone stuck in the middle except their capital, ofcourse.

That rifle on the wall of the labourer's cottage or working class flat is the symbol of democracy. It is our job to see that it stays there. -- George Orwell

Leave the politics bs out of it, when we’ve got a right to bear arms in our constitution we can go back to name calling and wining about corporations and social programs. Right now we are fighting for our ability to keep our guns and stop an illegal nationwide gun seizure.

Justin Trudeau and Bill aren’t our greatest foes, 2 million united and determined gun owners of every background standing in unison will stop their ambitions like a speeding car hitting a concrete wall.

Right wing idealists who would rather weaken the unity between right and left leaning gun owners then stand strong alongside them is what will doom us. Internal strife in this testing time is an efficient means to quick defeat.

Talk about re-writing history. Lol. No thanks Commie. You guys got your way for 70 years absolutely, and led us to this slow decline. Nice to see all the Communist are coming out, truth is you guys can go feed off each other. You ruined Eastern Europe and most of Asia and were aloud to survive after the demise of the Soviet Union and have continued the same disease. The whole ideology belongs in the dust bin of history.

My only question too you is why don’t you leave, why always following people like us around. We were here first. Why do you insist on forcefully convincing us to go for your ride.

If there are so many of you I would gladly separate and break up the country. Just stick too your geographical area to run and we will do the same.

It’s good too see you guys are de-cloaking finally from the shadows.

This should be a lesson to all the CGNers what has been lurking here for years, these are the same people that ban us and handcuff ideas and freedom of expression. They will lie, cheat, steal, distort to achieve there goals.

Right, simply calling everyone who doesn't agree with your views a Commie would surely bolster the validity of your arguments... Commuism and capitalism are left and right extremes of ideological belief that focus on distribution of resources, ie communism favours central planning, where as capitalism favour free market. Authoritarian vs. Democracy has to do with how government is chosen or not chosen. One needs to be able to distinguish the two different concepts before talking about geopolitics. For your information, most of what you consider as "ruined" Asia is in a state of Authoritarian Capitalism. The capitalism in China is much more proliferate than it is here in Canada for your information. While most conservatives would want more capitalism, they definitely don't want more authoritarian government. Socialism, meanwhile is the huge range between communism and capitalism for resource distribution. In Canada, I believe most people believe socialism with democracy fit with Canadian value pretty well, with some people wanting to be closer to the capitalist side of the spectrum than others. However, if your use of "aloud to survive", "stick too your geographical area...", "My only question too you" is any indication of your capacity to process complex concepts, then I can understand why over simplification of nuanced matters is necessary for you.

"My only question too you is why don’t you leave, why always following people like us around. We were here first. Why do you insist on forcefully convincing us to go for your ride." WOW, just WOW! This always come up at these pseudo-political debates. By saying "We were here first", I assume you were describing yourself as aboriginal/native/Inuit descent; surely you've got a thing or two to say about someone else coming and taking you for their ride? Would you please also explain what ride exactly are you being forcefully convinced to ride on?

Lastly, this is a gun forum, not a grumpy-person-who-randomly-label-others-as-commies-forum. So yes, people of different political affliations and belief systems have perfectly good reasons to be part of this inclusive forum to contribute or just "lurk".

Soooo...your endocrinologist drives 600 km to Toronto to work everyday, huh? So 600 km there, and 600 back. So 1200 km per day. Probably 14 hours if she only stops for fuel.

Methinks your endocrinologist is insane and you should find someone slightly more intelligent.

I’d like to point out some important facts that highlight the crisis we are facing and why unity is essential across all ideological divides.

How many people voted for the CPC this election?
    6.1 million

Now given that a very important e-petition exists to oppose the imminent Liberal gun bans, I should think we should be able to call upon massive signatory support from the masses of CPC voters RIGHT!? They are after all, the people many of you intent on relying on for gun rights in your new fantastical, laissez faire, prairie paradise.

Only it would seem you do not have the same support amongst CPC voters you had hoped. I say this because only a mere 160,000 signatures are documented in contrast out of whopping 6.1 million CPC voters.

To put this petition into even greater perspective that’s only 14% signatory support from the 2.3 million legal gun owners in this country!

We need all the support we can possibly muster. Jabbing at, alienating and shunning other gunnies because they don’t full heartedly support your every thinking point is plain stupid.

Fun Fact: Kevin O’Leary, former CPC leadership bidder and capitalist wet dream openly supported a ban exactly like the one proposed by Blair and JT.
