Yes the patrol rifle definitely has a flimsy bolt!

I third this as well. Mossy bolt is definitely sloppy. Patrol has irons and an a2 flash hider tho, one of the only things this rifle is missing.

I haven't handled the Ruger American Ranch in .223 but I can definitely say the Mossberg patrol is front heavy. It's got a medium bull barrel and a very light stock, 90% of the weight is in front of the trigger. Made it unwieldy for its supposed purpose as a patrol rifle. I'm hoping the American Ranch is a lighter profile barrel

Light and small rifle with a loaded 10 rounds mag, it weight under 7 pounds. Nice rig.

I got my American Ranch and couldn't be happier with the weight/balance. Not front heavy at all and balances like a dream.
