Good to hear. Its puzzling why Trudeau favored a municipal ban, rather than Federal, but its good to see it being rejected for the right reason, being that it targets the wrong people. Some oppose it, only because they say it doesn't go far enough, in that it should be Canada wide.
NO CONFLICT OF INTEREST TO DISCLOSE “Laws that forbid the carrying of arms . . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes . . . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.” Cesare Beccaria

What they did not say is important-they said nothing about 'assault' weapons. So I suspect if its federal and universal they are happy.
^^^ This. Good news on municipal handgun bans. But there is no mention about long-guns_restricted, non-restricted, and those that they

want to restrict or outright ban.

Pleased to see these type of responses. Continue to write your reps, and if you can afford, donate to a gun org.

Trudeau doesn’t care what the western provinces say or want.
All he cares about are his base in Quebec and the cities in Ontario.

Yep NDP too dense to realize cause-effect. Too busy taxing the daylights out of hard working folks in favour of social net and justice. They take away homes and properties from hard working families and call it "collateral damage". FFS.

It's nice to hear a little bit of good news every so often. It just goes to show that we can never let the foot off the gas. Keep the pressure on and keep the lines of communication open.
