If you bring part and accessories across the border yourself, on your person, and properly declare it at the border with the CBSA, is an import cert still required from the US Dept of Commerce? Based on products that are legal to own in Canada of course.

I have friends that have crossed with no issues, that’s why I ask. I also presume that had a US prescreen check be in effect I’m sure there’d be issues.

Bringing parts across yourself is illegal unless you have a commerce department license. You are not even allowed to possess these items on the USA side. If caught you could be charged with illegal possession and export of military goods. The IIC will not help with that.

Through the various websites and notifications I receive, I have not been made aware of any changes to US ML Category XII (NV).
In my opinion, anything in Category XII- the systems controlled under this category will not be moving to commerce or changing any licensing regulations.

Yes, some items will so go through USA state department.
This changeover will mainly be for civilian type handguns and rifles. (that is layman's language, to see the full list it can be looked up on the USA government website)

Yes, Lake City is on the approved import list in Canada, so, other than shippung as it heavy, would be legal to import. As long as Brownells will sell to you and ship to our exporter, you are good to go.
