    silver box and white box were for sure non corrosive.

    I'll buy some of this stuff if the price is right.

    Yup, that stuff rusted an SKS piston quite impressively.

    EDIT: I misread like a dum-dum and thought the White Box in reference was x39. I have no knowledge or opinion on the x54. But some White Box x39 was definitely corrosive.

    I don't think it is even physically possible to have new production ammunition made corrosive since corrosive primers are obsolete and nobody makes them and hasn't made them for decades !

    I have never run into any problems with this ammo and I shot like 600 rounds of this stuff. Some people think it's the old surplus stuff since it looks like it.

    You are mixed up. The Norinco red box is 7.62x39mm NOT 7.62x54R. Different caliber. And the Norinco red box is non-corrosive.
