Apparently I've been living in a cave.
The latest rage is to have Picatinny rails as your standard interface to allow other stocks to be easily added.
Kind of makes sense.

It also lets you adjust the height of the stock to a certain extent, which is nice if you have a tall optic.
 
Just curious... Only in this sport for less than 3 years, might be noob question. Just saw a youtube video, that the regular ruger pc carbine's barrel section will be interchangeble with the charger version. Is this gonna be a problem that will affect the NR status of the regular PC carbine? Something like the Charger 10/22 made the 25rds mag being Prohibit?
 
I don't think you will be able to buy the barrel sections on there own. 2nd, who knows if this model will make it to Canada as of yet.
 
lets not build this does any body remember the 10/22 charger and all the mags that were lost. looks nice but lets not
