After the abysmal accuracy I got with mine, I would not buy one unless I could shoot it first to be sure it could hold better than 10 MOA at 100 yards.

I wish mine could have shot 10 MOA with quality ammo. It was closer to 20 MOA for 5 round groups at 100 meters.

Other than the poor accuracy, I liked the rifle in general.

Hopefully M+M does something to correct the problem but I'll only believe it when I see it.
Any policy is a success by sufficiently low standards, and a failure by sufficiently high standards.

A high post count means nothing… A high burned out barrel count means everything…

7.62x39 is a good round for hunting small/medium game or for plinking/tacticool larping. SKS fills the first niche just fine. But for the second one you'd want an SBR or a bullpup, not a long and front heavy "DMR" gun.
by39 its the red-headed step child of the service rifle cartridge world.

Read up on 7.62x39mm accuracy, because the quality of ammo varies greatly.
Consider too that 7.62x39mm is the parent case of 6PPC, arguably one of, if not the most prolific and inherently accurate benchrest cartridges around.

These things appear to be vastly hit or miss (mostly miss...) I think both in part to the craptastic surplus ammo people are pumping through them and some sketchy design elements that are wreaking havoc with repeatability. I'd still love one to see if I could tinker with to get it to work, but the price is out to lunch - and now we are seeing pricing go through the roof - even more so.

New shipment of M10x rifles now feature thinner 16mm profile barrels versus 18mm which improves on overall balance and weight.

Awesome, but does this mean all rifles going forward will have a thin barrel?

Lots of people seem to like the thinner barrels as they make the rifles lighter. I on the other hand prefer the heavy barrels. Stay cooler and tend to have better accuracy.
