It was for me, and I’d do it again
These guys did a pretty solid comparison and noted there's almost no difference. https://bluelineoptics.com/athlon-ar...hlon-ares-btr/

I'm still on the fence though. There's no sale right now so I guess I can wait w/ my decision. Too bad the BTR doesn't come in bronze.

There is considerable upgrade from the Ares BTR to the ETR. The BTR is 30mm tube where the ETR is 34mm. One of my hunting partners has a BTR and its really nice. I have the Cronus BTR that I don't know if I could have abused any worse (Been on a sheep hunting rifle for two seasons and PRS rifle the rest) If you have the money and weight is not an issue both are great options but I would go with the ETR or a Cronus.

It's on my 7” 7.62x39 upper for now lol. The glass quality is pretty nice and can’t wait for a real side by side comparison/tracking test with Razor gen2 once my other bolt gun build is completed.

Apologies for the slight necropost. Still haven't seen any reviews on the TSR2, can anyone speak for the build quality? On paper it seems to be based on the Holosun/Sig sights, with the push-buttons and auto shut-off. Partnered with the AAA battery it seems like a real winner in my books, but I'm a bit leery given the lack of consumer input on these things...
