Hi! I applied a pal in feb. When the RCMP office were still working, I called them and they said that my application is in the provincial firearms office. My two reference never received any call. I just want to know that will the provincial firearms office call them?

Frank, CFO MAY call your references. It really depends on how busy they are and what's your risk assessment looks like.

Maybe or maybe not........

more hurry up and wait for me. They received app in Miramichi on March 21. Appeared online on April 11 - 2019!!
so i am now into year 2. Still sitting with BC CFO. Now this COVID stuff happens so probably be months more of waiting.

What i hate when you call them, besides the long wait and being told to call back in 4 weeks. I hate that they make you listen in French and English and THEN given option to press 1 for English.
That should be the first thing.

CFO may call or may not ... they are not in a hurry anyway ..

I gave the applictaion's reference number, the same day I saw it online, to both my references and asked them to call CFO and ask them if they would have any questions in regard ...
after such a call by one of my references a couple of days later (CFO did ask some general stuff, like how and how long they have known me) the decision to issue was made the same day ..

your experience may vary, of course, especially now ...

That's not normal. If your application taking this long to process there must be some issue from your past or the present!

no idea what it would be. I have a theft charge on record but that was almost 40 years ago. No violence or anything close to that. Not even a parking ticket in last 30 years.

wondering if Vancouver police gave wrong record again? Several years ago i had to get clearance for work. When i picked up from VPD i was confused by seeing recent charges. Turns out there
is someone with similar name to me in Vancouver. Next day i picked up the correct one and that has zero on it.

I am a stable law abiding citizen. Living at same address and same job for 20 years. Do 911 calls flag you? Because of work i have had to call 911 quite often and they take my name for the record.

Sometimes they take a long time to process the applications. I'm not sure why. I am in BC, my application took two and a half years. I checked a box, which likely had a lot to do with the delay, however they didn't call myself or my references for any interviews.
