We will be standing there with you. I’m trying my best to undo the damage the fake news has done to public perception with anyone who will listen. I’m not giving up. Hopefully Kenneys announcement of appointing an Alberta CFO will turn into something. We’re all in this together!

Grandfathering would not apply to deactivated firearm as they are no longer firearms.

    There are no grandfathering provisions.

Its ban now and we will think about compensation later.

Exactly why I want that guy to cite source as he clearly has no idea the definition of the term.

Oh and if your source is your uncle Bob or a friend of a friend no need to reply.
There is another thread going on about this BS

    https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/foru...ion-of-firearm!!

Supposedly Tracey at the CCFR confirmed that deactivation will be required for grandfathering
Apparently it was confirmed at a technical meeting she was at getting details about the ban.

You’re citing a thread started by a nobody who also has no source of what he’s saying?
Just look at the number of times the word “supposedly” was used and you find his words creditable?

To do this at a time when everyone is distracted by covid and when we are not even allowed to go outside and protest is really diabolical.

Clearly states grandfathering is in the clause:

The government official said that, at the end of the two-year amnesty, gun owners must dispose of the firearm or they may be able apply for the firearm to be "grandfathered." Details on the grandfather process would be released at a later date, the official said.

You guys got to start reading and not talk out of your... that place.

My understanding is that even the Government has no idea of what form the Grandfathering and compensation programs will be. Only pure speculation at this point.

As for deactivation, we can deactivate any firearm, regardless of class, after deactivation she is no longer a firearm, case closed.
