On the prohib list is the Stag-10 and the Stag-10S, but no mention of the Stag-10L, is that perhaps an oversight?

why can't we sell the stag 10 upper receivers ? there is no serial number associated with them, to my understanding its the lower that is prohibited.
can someone please explain or direct me where it is stated.

    Its the first paragraph

On May 1, 2020, the Government of Canada has prohibited:

nine (9) types of firearms, by make and model, and their variants; and
firearms with a bore of 20 mm or greater, and those firearms capable of discharging a projectile with a muzzle energy greater than 10,000 Joules; and
the upper receivers of M16, AR-10, AR-15 and M4 pattern firearms

Also, the "of modern design" criteria is not rooted in facts, considering the first semi-automatic guns were designed 135 years ago.
The AR15, AR10, vz58 designs are over 60 years old. Thats vintage, not modern...

    Youza.

The 10/22 magazines with capacity larger than 10 rounds have no serial numbers either but were deemed prohibited overnight too.

    Page 57:

The Regulations also prescribe the upper receivers of M16, AR-10, AR-15 and M4 pattern firearms to be prohibited devices in order to ensure that these firearms cannot easily be used with illicitly manufactured or acquired lower receivers.

So they have banned specific firearms on the list. I would think, enterprising individuals, can still design a new firearm not on the list, but meeting the criteria for NR since it does not appear that the criteria for classifying rifles has changed. Yet. Just thinking out loud.

Do you not read it? I states openly that it is a open document to add on guns that will be bigger sellers because of the bans.

Depends on how the RCMP gives out FRT numbers

I am not sure what the process is. Just how different does a rifle have to be from an ar15 to not be considered a variant?
