Legal Transfer non restricted. Newbie Question
Hello everyone,
In the legal transfer a used non restricted firearm, is it both parties or only the seller's legal responsibility to obtain the name, PAL number, and infos of the other party and verify with the RCMP?
If I'm buying a used non restricted I'll obviously give my PAL# and infos to the other party but should I verify the seller's PAL/infos aswell?
I'd like to do everything legally without insulting anyone asking for infos that are not of my business.
Thanks !

You don't legally have to collect any info of verify anything with anyone
What you do legally have to do, as a seller, is ensure you are selling a firearm to someone that holds a current PAL. How you do that is up to you. But you are legally responsible if you sell a gun to someone with an expired PAL or no PAL

Also OP, No need to send pics of PALs between both parties either, full name and pal# is all that is required for RCMP verification.
Don't leave yourself exposed or anyone else's info to fraud.
It is not impolite or insulting to ask for a sellers PAL, I always show mine when making FTF deal (as a seller)
