A 22 LR conversion of the XCR-L could allow current owner to continue to use this rifle.
    It's possible?
What is urgent is for you to read the OIC very carefully, because it seems you have a poor grasp of how the ban works.
I am saying this because you seem to think certain things are allowed when they in fact aren't. If you don't educate yourself you're gonna put yourself in legal trouble.
Give the FA and CC a read too while you're at it.

I urge you to stop starting flames with other fellows owner based on your supposed knowledge of things.
Educate yourself to be polite so that you are not going to aggravate the problem.

the current classification is vague, however the concept of "variant" is not properly formulated. So a XCR-22 would be a "new gun".
e.g. the SCAR is "prohibited" but scar looking 22 LR are still on the market

On the other hand you have AR and AK .22 lookalikes that are banned as variants. Do us all a favour, go read the FA, CC, and OIC as suggested.

That won't change anything as the XCR is banned by name.

FYI: The Mossberg Blaze47 was listed as prohibited based on appearance alone.

There are half a dozen (+/-) .22lr on the OIC already.

I was straight to the point perhaps, but far from "starting flames".
I am trying to help you. Sorry, I don't stock the sugarcoating you desire.
